This movie or streaming series will tell the true story of Captain Gordon, who brought the last slave ship to Brazil in 1852. Years later he would be hanged by President Abraham Lincoln, becoming the only slave trader to be convicted and executed in US history and perhaps the world. An incredible real history here romanticized with strong and important characters for US and Brazilian history. This production is being developed by Hollywood’s Elixir Entertainment and Giant Ryver LLC.

INTRODUCTION

In 1851, the American Captain Gordon brought the last slave ship to Brazil. Years later he was arrested in Congo and taken to New York. Unfortunately for him, Abraham Lincoln had become president and decided to end slavery, making Gordon the symbol of this change. Gordon became the only slave trader to be convicted and hanged in the history of the United States. Uniting these two historical characters, we follow the life of beautiful Anastasia, a black teenager with blue eyes. For the first time, a Hollywood production will tell the true story of the clash between Lincoln and Gordon, and the slave Anastasia. This production will be filmed in Brazil and in the USA.

To be produced in Hollywood, the film is based on the book Hanging Captain Gordon, by author Ron Soodalter, president of the Abraham Lincoln Institute of Washington DC, who is also a producer in the project. In May 2019, Giant Ryver producers associated with prestigious American producer Elixir Entertainment of Hollywood to develop and package this film for the American and international markets.

SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM

The film Anastácia HCG (working title) begins in Brazil, with the arrival of the last slave ship in Rio de Janeiro in 1852.
After unloading his sad cargo of 500 slaves, Captain Nathaniel Gordon sets fire to the ship Camargo and dressed as a woman he flees to New York, carrying with him a blue-eyed African teenager girl, Anastasia.
In New York, he sells the blue-eyed girl for a high price and pursues his illegal career as a slave dealer, commanding ships from New York to Africa and from there to Cuba and Brazil, a common illegal practice at the time.
At this time the young Abraham Lincoln begins to get involved in American politics, which would lead him to run for president years later.
After a few more trips, Gordon is captured off the coast of Africa commanding the slave ship Erie with 970 Africans aboard and is taken to New York, then the world’s center of slavery. Although banned for decades in the US, no slave traders had ever been punished, as the entire economy of New York and the southern states depended on the slave market. The state was very corrupt.
Meanwhile, Anastasia lives a hard life, like an African Cinderella trapped on an American farm, suffering terribly but without losing her tenderness.
Captain Gordon was certain he would be released soon, but something unheard of happens. Abraham Lincoln becomes president of the United States and declares that he will end human trafficking once and for all. He would become the “fairy godmother” who frees Anastasia.
Gordon became the first and only slave trader ever convicted and hanged in the United States. Maybe in the world. A milestone in the history of the fight against racial injustice.
Through the lives of Lincoln, Gordon, and Anastasia, this true story puts in check the sad period of American history until the tragic Civil War. A powerful movie, aligned with the revisionist tendencies of Hollywood, which will be undisputed commercial success in the US and from there to the world, including Brazil.

THE EXUBERANT AMERICAN AUDIOVISUAL INDUSTRY LIVES POSITIVE TRANSFORMATION MOMENT.

Arguably the American audiovisual industry is one of the most lucrative and well established in the world, culturally dominating the global film market, including distribution in Brazilian cinema.

Maintaining this American hegemony, technology now enables a transformation that is affecting the way productions are developed. In addition to the traditional movie production and distribution for cinemas around the world, streaming companies, which are distributing content over the internet, are surpassing the traditional model established for decades.

Leading content provider, Netflix has been making growing investments far superior to all traditional studios combined. With the debut of other similar services such as Amazon Video Prime, Disney +, HBO NOW, Apple TV, Facebook, Youtube TV, Hulu, and many others, the search for unpublished content has steadily increased. Amazon recently announced a $ 1.5 billion investment in a single TV series, version of Lord of the Rings. Showing interest in Brazilian stories, Amazon will open its fourth studio, the only one outside the US, in Rio de Janeiro.

All of these studios and streaming companies have the potential to invest in HCG Anastasia production, and they will certainly be interested due to the features of the movie’s history.
